Originating in the 1950’s as a manufacturer of sheetmetal plumbing products, Doherty Industries has grown to become a major supplier of repetition sheetmetal products to a diverse market.

Located at Thomastown in Melbourne’s northern growth belt, Doherty began producing small items used in residential plumbing installations.

Under the ownership of Doug and Denise Reynolds, Doherty expanded from its original small Airport West premises until occupying its current ultra-modern purpose built 3500 square metre manufacturing and production facility.

The late 1980’s saw Doherty acquire its first CNC equipment, gradually establishing one of the most modern sheetmetal production facilities in Melbourne.

With increased capabilities Doherty moved into manufacturing of products used in the building industry, telecommunications, electronics, hardware and ancillary areas with prominent government and corporate organisations among its clients.

From a modest beginning Doherty has evolved to provide a range of manufacturing and associated services.

Our input at an early stage in product design has assisted many clients in efficiently and economically bringing products to market both within and outside Australia.

Doherty utilize the products of Nisshinbo and Wilson Tooling, including the innovative Wilson Wheel, plus equipment from other world class machinery suppliers, to ensure accuracy and consistency in production. A modern and well-organised working environment assists us further to meet our clients needs.

To ensure that all of our clients needs are met, we access a range of ancillary services including powder coating and other finishes. In this way items at any stage from components to completed products can be supplied as required.
